The company reached out about a week before the interview date. I just needed a confirmation for the interview but didn't hear back from the HR person. I guess there was some sort of misunderstanding or communication issue. I was pretty disappointed when I was told on the day of my interview that they had already hired someone else. The interviewer gave a great overview of the position. Jay, the presenter, was very knowledgeable and everything he said has been accurate so far. Some reviews suggest people don't want to work, but this company offers a fantastic service and expects you to follow the process, which is explained well. I'm doing that and doing well. This was not a full or part-time job as advertised, but a sign-up to be a 1099 contractor, which they didn't mention in the ad. A manager invited me to what he called a pre-interview at a hotel. I was one of two people there, and they seemed to expect more. The manager complained about his job ad not working and showed an old video about people not getting paid enough for damages. He then showed an 18-minute video explaining the company's business model, which seemed like a pyramid scheme. The company wants you to find damage at people's houses, get them to sign a contract, and then they take 30% of the insurance payout. They give you 20% of their cut and encourage you to recruit others to do the same for a bigger cut. I felt misled, as did the other person who attended. We both thought it was a real job interview, not a scam. After the video, the manager, who mentioned being an RM grad and wealthy, asked us to fill out papers rating his presentation. I gave it a low rating and left, and the other person followed. We discussed feeling scammed in the parking lot. It's hard to believe this is legal. I suggest checking Google reviews.

It was a group interview. I gave a 15 minute presentation about Public Insurance Adjusters and Metro. The next day, I finished the paperwork and began. We have weekly training on Metro's standard operating procedures and training to help me pass the state exam. I had to pay $40 to be a contractor for metro, but I earned that back on day 2 with the paid training. I also had to pay for the state exam ($40) and fingerprints ($40), but Metro reimbursed me for those costs after I finished training!
