First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Metro Healthy Communities.
LGBTQ Program Specialist
I first heard from HR for an initial screening, and they said I'd have a follow-up with the hiring manager the next week. But when the time came, the manager wasn't there. I tried to reach out to confirm the time, but HR wasn't available and no one else could help. I emailed the HR rep and didn't get a response for three days. The HR rep rescheduled, but again, the manager wasn't available, so I was interviewed by someone else already in the role. The interview itself was pretty standard with typical questions. They said I'd hear back in 2-3 weeks, but I never did. I reached out to the HR rep again to ask if I was still being considered and never got a reply.
- What would be your approach in different situations?
- Tell me about how you would handle specific scenarios.
Director of Finance
It's a standard interview process. You'll have a quick chat with HR, then the hiring manager, and if you're a top candidate, you'll meet the CEO. The follow-through is really bad though. Communication just stopped after the CEO/CFO meeting, and they reposted the job a month after my 'final' interview. The CFO was honest, saying the last few people in this role didn't last 90 days. Several!!! That's a huge red flag. Unless you're desperate for a job, I'd skip this place. Don't leave a good paying job for this, you might be looking again in 90 days.
- What makes you want to join our organization?
- What insights do you have about our company?
- Can you share your experience in the nonprofit sector?
Program Support Specialist
I went for an interview and took an Excel test. The two women interviewing me seemed disorganized. The information they gave me about the position was different from what HR had told me. They said they had a position in both Tampa and St. Pete. Checking their website, both positions are still open, St. Pete's has been open for several months.

Director
Usually two interviews, one with the CEO and another with a relevant director. They ask about your experience working with medical staff, and your experience with EMRs. They also ask situational questions, like how you've handled high-stress situations, and questions about organization.
- Can you tell me about your experience working with an EMR?
