First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Metis Strategy.
Consultant
The whole thing took about a month and was super smooth and organized. All the people I talked to were nice, thoughtful, and really wanted to get to know my background and what makes me tick. They kept in touch really well the whole time. First up was an intro chat with an associate, just talking about my experience, how I solve problems, and why Metis. Then, round two was a mix of a case study and digging into my past work. The case was pretty practical, about business and data strategy stuff, felt like real client work which was cool. The interviewer kept things moving and encouraged me to think logically. It was more about strategy than hard numbers. The last round was a panel interview and then I had to prep and give a presentation. Preparing the deck was tough, but it was a good way to show how I communicate, think clearly, and handle client interactions. The panel seemed into it and gave good feedback.
- Behavioral questions about fit and motivation, as well as past experiences.
- Case study questions.
- Questions about what's next in technology.
Associate
The interview process involved two rounds of behavioral or situational questions, each lasting between 0.5 to 1 hour. Following this, there was a final 3-hour panel interview that included a case study, situational questions, and resume-related questions. After a significant period of being ghosted for three weeks post-final round, I received a standard rejection email. The HR department was quite unprofessional, having scheduled and then cancelled a meeting without any explanation.
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in consulting?
- What draws you to Metis specifically?
- Can you provide a walkthrough of your past experiences?
Consulting Analyst
The interview took 1.5 to 2 hours and involved a lot of behavioral questions. They also did a case interview that was led by the interviewer and seemed pretty straightforward.
- Tell me about a personal quirk you have.
- The interviewer guided you through segmenting the population in the case interview.
Strategy and Management Consultant
It was a pretty standard interview process for a management role at a consulting company. They really wanted to know about my industry experience and if I could lead and mentor junior consultants.
- Describe how you'd handle a situation where a client and I have a disagreement.
