First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Method Studios.
CG Artist
I got referred by someone who works at method. About a week later, a scheduler reached out. Then, I went in to meet with a vfx supervisor and the department lead. We talked about my personality, my technical skills related to the role, and they explained what method is about. The next day, they asked for my rate. We negotiated a bit, and then they made an offer. I had to do a drug test, which was a bit weird, but other employees said it's not a big deal.
- How do you handle stressful situations?
Environment Artist
It was a light interview and a technical interview, then we discussed the offer with some negotiation. After that, there was the contract and setting up the schedule for starting. We also talked about accommodation and relocation, which depends on availability and the desired start date. The goal is to move as soon as possible, but this can vary between artists and depends on their years of experience.
- Can you elaborate on your prior work experience based on what's shown in your showreel?
3D Artist
It was a quick and really straightforward interview process. The recruiting team was well-prepared. I ended up talking to four people in total. The interview was held on-site and felt very professional. I was asked to go over my experience and present my portfolio.
- Be ready to discuss what you are seeking.
- Respond wisely and appropriately to all inquiries.
- Explain your past experience.
Paint and Roto Artist
The interview went well and had a positive outcome. However, they mentioned they didn't have any openings at the moment, so I ended up taking a different job a few months later. It was disappointing because I thought the role was for an immediate opening.
- Can you start by telling me a bit about yourself?
- Which shot did you enjoy working on the most?
- Do you prefer using Nuke or Silhouette?
