Behavioral Technical Case

For this Senior Project Manager role, the process usually involves about 2 phone screenings and then an interview loop with 6 interviews. My experience took a bit longer than typical due to some confusion about my work eligibility and also because the interviewers weren't always available. The first round of interviews felt pretty straightforward, maybe even a little too easy, as I didn't feel particularly challenged. However, I got to connect with more senior folks in the second interview round, and the CTO really sold me on the company, making it clear it would be a fantastic opportunity.

Behavioral Technical Coding

I had a phone interview with the company, talking with two senior engineers. They started by asking what I knew about the company, then elaborated on it. After that, they went over my resume, asking me to detail specific points. They stressed the importance of only listing things on my resume that I could 100% back up. Then, they moved into technical questions, which were basic C++ concepts like stacks, trees, classes, and recursion. I felt nervous and uncomfortable, which affected my answers. It seemed they got frustrated when I couldn't recall things immediately and were clearly unimpressed. Unlike past experiences where interviewers were helpful when I didn't know an answer, these interviewers were rude and dismissive. I'm okay with not getting an offer because I wouldn't want to work for people who treat candidates that way, and I can only imagine how they treat their own team members. This role wasn't for me, though someone else might be a good fit.

Behavioral Technical

Applied through an external recruiter and had a recruiter phone screen, followed by one with the hiring manager at Meteorcomm. Both interactions were pleasant and professional. The hiring manager reviewed my experience related to the job and my resume. Due to mixed feedback from interviewers, I had two technical calls. Afterward, I was invited for an onsite visit. I met with several team leads and the AVP overseeing operations. Everyone was very welcoming and professional. The interview questions were good, and I felt my skills were thoroughly explored and understood. The questions covered a mix of technical and process/personality aspects.
