The interview process started with a call with the hiring manager, followed by a meeting with the department manager. The next step was a panel interview which included a presentation. I liked the process overall, and the hiring and department managers were great. The presentation part was a negative experience though. We were given minimal info about a pretend 'client' and some slides to use. During the presentation, one panel member seemed to intentionally try to make me fail by asking things I wouldn't know given the lack of details. It's okay to say you don't know, that's realistic. But it was upsetting when that panel member insulted me for not knowing certain terms. It's already nerve-wracking doing a presentation for an interview. There's a big difference between helpful feedback and just insulting someone for not being an expert in your field.

The process had three steps. It started with a recruiter phone call, then I met the VP of Customer Success, and finally, I met the Director of Customer Success and an Enterprise CSM. The recruiter was really helpful and knew a lot about the company and the job. They followed up well and kept me engaged. The VP of CS interview was just me and them, and it let me show my background, not just what was on my resume. The last part was a presentation that took some extra effort, but it was worth it and helped me learn a lot about the company. I think it's pretty fair to ask someone to present when that's going to be a big part of their job every day. Overall, it was a fast, fair, and nice experience with everyone I talked to.

The interview process involved about 3 interviews. I had great interactions with several team members along the way. The final interview was a multi-presentation panel interview. This was my first time having to prepare and present for an interview, but I understand why it's part of the process, as a CSM's primary job is to present and speak with customers. This exercise gives the hiring team a firsthand look into your skill set. This is a highly coveted opportunity at an amazing and growing company, so there are definitely a few hoops to jump through. But as they say, nothing worth having comes easy.
