Started with a recruiter screen and a 45 min tech / screening round with 2 coding questions on string and array logic – basically LC mediums. The onsite had 4 rounds back to back: systems / linux, coding, design, and behavioral. The linux round was definitely the hardest part. It began with a basic troubleshooting scenario about a slow server and then went deep into kernel internals, syscalls, and network retransmits. You really need to know your tools like tcpdump and strace. Design was about building a messaging platform at scale, and behavioral was standard as usual. For prep I brushed up on linux fundamentals, LC mediums for coding, and also went through some reddit posts. Also did a mock on Prepfully with an actual Meta PE. That was a lifesaver because it helped me tighten up my networking answers which were a bit weak. The systems round is a total filter I think so you have to know your Linux internals inside out. Overall it's a fair process but very technical.

Many interviewers said they learned something new from the conversation and will apply it at Meta. Recruiter did not get back for two weeks even after many follow ups and then just gave a cold call to say I’m not offered. When I asked for feedback, she said she can’t share any but it was technical (which is lie). I had all solid technical interviews - solved all troubleshooting, coding, system design problems. My understanding is Meta is just interviewing to show on paper to USCIS for green card applications.

1- Linux basics multiple choice questions - 18mins online exam 2- two screening rounds, first Coding (leetcode), second is PE basics. 3- 5 interviews, two coding, two PE, one behavioural The interviewers were friendly, but the process felt a bit disorganized and rushed. Technical issues on the interviewer's side shortened the coding part, limiting time to show skills. Interview topics didn’t fully match the stated focus or typical academic background. Some questions needed niche, hands-on industry experience not really expected at entry level. There was not much flexibility to explain answers clearly or use supporting tools. in my opinion, the structure didn’t reflect the potential or preparation of candidates fairly.
