Support Staff
The interview process was very organized, with detailed questions focusing on students and the kind of support they need to succeed. You should be prepared to provide specific answers on how you would handle various classroom scenarios.
- Can you tell me about your approach to managing a classroom?
- What is your strategy for classroom management and what are your goals for student development?
- How would you respond in different classroom situations?
Science Teacher
I applied online and then a principal reached out via email. We scheduled a FaceTime chat for the next morning. After the interview, I had to email my references, and they sent them some questions to answer.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- What difficulties do you expect to encounter in your first year as a teacher?
Teacher
First, you'll pre-register and go to the Job Fair. Make sure to bring plenty of resumes for each campus you're interested in. At the fair, teachers will screen you and then send you to principals, counselors, or instructional coaches. A Campus Principal might interview you right there, or they might call you later to set up a one-on-one or team interview. If you get a job offer, you'll then have a screening with HR to sign the official paperwork.
- How do you manage your classroom?
Bilingual Teacher
The process is standard for elementary teaching. You'll go to the school for an interview in the conference room. The principal or Assistant Principal will be there with two or three teachers, who might be grade leaders for the role. They'll all ask you standard questions for this type of job.
- What's your reason for leaving your last district?
- What grade levels do you like teaching best?
