The interview process was friendly, fun, and challenging. They know exactly what kind of team member they're looking for and are very firm about it. They're willing to wait to hire the perfect fit, even if it means delaying recruitment.
- Can you describe instances where you demonstrated teamwork skills in different situations?
Controller
I submitted my application online and was emailed to provide my availability for an initial screening with HR. There was a bit of a delay before the call was scheduled because someone was traveling, but we eventually had the interview. It was a pretty standard interview where I answered questions based on my research of the company and the job description, and I also discussed those topics with the interviewer. The next steps they laid out were a chat with the person currently in the role (a contractor), followed by a test (they wouldn't say what kind!), and then an interview with the hiring manager. I received a rejection a few days later stating I wasn't quite the right fit.
- Could you start by telling me a bit about yourself?
- What motivates you to want to work for our company?
- How do you interpret our company's value of Integrity?

It seemed like an exciting opportunity to join a growing company, but by the end of the interview process, I had ZERO interest in joining Meru Health. Overall I went through about 5 interviews, all were unique with different leaders but straight forward, nothing too challenging. I was disappointed as not one interviewer responded to my follow up thank you email, but I was asked to continue through the process. The overall interview process was extended out well over two months, they made me jump through hoops and then provided no feedback or any follow up. For a company that works in the mental health space, it was a completely unprofessional interview process and in hindsight, was a waste of my time.
- How have you managed work/life balance in your professional career in the past?
Operations Manager
The interview process was quite long and involved 6 interviews plus an exercise. It started with a 45-minute recruiter call that went over an hour. Then, I had a 45-minute call with someone from the team, as my direct manager was on vacation. Next, there was a take-home exercise where I had a week to analyze data, do competitive research, and prepare a 15-20 minute recorded presentation. After that, I had two 30-minute "cultural" fit interviews with members from the practitioner side of the team. I then had a 30-minute call with my direct manager (who was back from vacation). Finally, there was a call with the COO for culture fit, which I understood to be a formality. I was rejected after the 6th step, so I had 5 calls and a presentation. The whole thing took over 2 months from application to rejection, and scheduling was also very inefficient, sometimes requiring communication with three people just to schedule one call.
