Desktop Support Technician
I interviewed for this position. First, there was a screening interview, then a back-to-back video interview with the IT hiring manager and two senior members of the local team. It was pretty informal. During the second part, I was asked some questions that were easy to answer given my IT background. I even answered a question that one interviewer said would get me hired on the spot if it were up to him, but apparently, it wasn't. Even though I wasn't hired, the interview process was efficient and they explained the job well. I do wish I had received more feedback on why I wasn't hired, especially since things seemed to go so well.
- How would you assist the CFO in accessing a website from a hotel if they were experiencing issues?
Director
First, I had an introductory meeting with the HR Manager. We talked about some basic things and then the salary range. The HR Manager told me the range for the job and I was okay with it. Then, I interviewed with the hiring manager. The interview and discussion went great, and we talked about salary again. But the manager said my salary expectations were too high, even though it was the same range the HR Manager had given me! After that, the manager said she wanted me to interview with her boss, but I never heard back. They told me they were still interviewing other people. I'm pretty disappointed and think it was unprofessional. I'm glad it didn't work out because if this is how they do business during an interview, who knows what would have happened later.
- Can you describe your management style?
- What's the source of your application?
- What motivates your interest in this role?
Operations Manager
It started with an email, then a phone call. After that, there was a weird 1-hour onsite exercise where I was the only one in the office. Then, a really quick chat with the hiring manager, who just talked about how swamped they were. They asked me to describe how I'd expect the workflow and culture to be, like I was complaining to a random person. Then, radio silence for a bit. I sent two follow-up emails, and eventually got rejected. The rejection came from someone totally random who was apparently acting on the hiring manager's behalf.
- A one-hour test assessing your grasp of operations flow, attention to detail, and logical thinking.
Business Analytics Analyst
So after the first screening, it was like 4 more rounds, all virtual. First up was mainly behavioral, but they threw in some SQL at the end. Then the next two were case studies, kinda seeing how I think, my business sense, and my overall thought process. The last one was a shorter case, followed by some behavioral stuff.
