Behavioral Technical Presentation Case

Interviewed with HR, the VP of Sales, and then the President and VP of Services. They were looking for someone who could handle RFPs for Government work, and also do some proposal writing. The VP of Sales was straightforward and wanted someone with good people skills and the ability to demo the product. They were moving fast.

Behavioral Technical Other

The interview process took a while but was pretty fast. They get a negative rating though because this company doesn't really support veterans. I did four long Zoom interviews and a writing assignment. I have great experience leading proposals and using RFPIO, their proposal software. I also asked them to consider that I'm a US Army veteran. After everything, they told me they picked someone else. I asked for feedback on the interviews and if the person they chose was also a veteran. I didn't get a real answer, just that 'we selected the best fit for the role.' That made it clear they picked a non-veteran over me, a veteran with the same qualifications. Lots of companies say they support vets, but it's often just talk. This is another company that, when skills are equal, doesn't value military service. You should probably look for other opportunities.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I didn't apply for this role, but the design manager reached out to me on LinkedIn. I went to their office for an interview. I had a couple of 1:1s, a whiteboarding exercise, and then an interview with some of the exec team. The manager told me I wasn't a fit because I'm softspoken and would get crushed by the all-male dev team. Glad I dodged that bullet because I wouldn't want to work where a manager judges based on gender and demeanor.

the interview process was really smooth and new, which made it less of a hassle for candidates. Many of the questions were spot-on and useful for everyone involved. On the flip side, some questions felt a bit repeated and could be improved.
