Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MERGE.
Intern
It was a 2-step process with 2 1-hour interviews. The first step had one quantitative reasoning and financial calculations, and also a short mock case. The second step had one personal + verbal case. Overall, it was a reasonable difficulty level with a dialogue format.
- How would you go about valuing a company?
Intern
I applied online. First there was a phone interview, then a skype interview or on site interview. They took several weeks between rounds and after the second round and only sent an automated email saying they went with someone else after a 2 month process which I think is highly unprofessional. The interviewer was texting throughout the interview and did not seem interested at all.
- What are your 5 year career goals?
Intern
We had an initial phone chat, and then an in-person meeting with two of the VPs. It was pretty relaxed and they asked us to ask them a bunch of questions. They got back to us pretty fast about the second interview and then made an offer.
- Do you have any questions for us?
- Can you tell us about your strengths in Public Relations?
