First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mercury Drug.
Human Resources Assistant
For the first interview, they said to come at 8 AM but it really started at 9 AM. I was there until almost 5 PM, and they didn't say it would take all day in the invite. They should at least give a heads-up on how long the interview will take since it's a big part of an applicant's time. The whole process is so slow and inefficient, and we can't leave their office until it's done. I had to go back the next week for a panel interview with 5 HR people, and then the week after for the final interview with the VP. The entire process took 3 weeks.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- What are your short-term and long-term career goals?
- What motivated your decision to apply to Mercury Drug?
HR Assistant
When you get to the Mercury Drug Office, the guard will check your ID and the screenshot of your invitation, but you can also just walk in. They'll give you a form to fill out, and you'll need a 1x1 picture for it. Once you're done, put the form on the small table by the door. An HR officer will collect it and call applicants one by one. When it's your turn, they'll first measure your height and weight (not sure why). Then, you'll have an initial interview where they'll ask for your personal details, including your family background, and a situational question: if you don't qualify for the HR role, are you willing to be a Pharmacy assistant? If all goes well, they'll hand you another form with questions about your personal info, autobiography, past job experiences, and future plans. After filling this out, submit it inside the office. They'll call you again for a second interview, where the HR officer will review the information and answers you provided. If you pass this, you'll take a psychological exam. The whole process happens in one day; I was there from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
- Tell us about your family background.
- If you don't meet the HR position requirements, are you open to being assigned as a Pharmacy assistant?
- Are you willing to work in shifts?
HR Assistant
They will make you wait in the waiting area and then they will proceed to collect your application form. After that, they will call the applicants one by one. Once your name is called, you need to go inside the office in front of the waiting area. Once inside, they will measure your weight and height first. After that, they will start with the initial interview. The interview is composed of simple questions too. Some can be answered by yes or no. After they are done asking (in my experience), they will hand you a green form and will tell you to wait for a call (a sign that you did not pass the initial interview)
- Are you willing to work as a pharmacy assistant?
