User Experience Designer
Had four interviews all on the same day. They were all super chill and easy to talk to. It was a mix of checking out my design and research skills, how I talk to web developers, understanding the company culture, and just chatting about tech and design stuff. It didn't feel like a high-pressure situation, more like they were just getting to know me as a person and a candidate. I talked to the Project Manager, then the Manager for the Product team and Department Head, and had a 1 on 1 chat with the Manager about how the team works and how my work gets used. Then I interviewed with the Engineering VP to see my skills and how I'd work with Web Developers and Engineers.
- Could you describe your research process?

Product Marketing Specialist
The interview process for fantastic! Extremely efficient and seamless. After I was determined a suitable candidate during my initial phone screening, I quickly was scheduled a phone interview and then a group interview, where I met my future team that I would be working with. The whole process took less than two months and probably would have been shorter had it not been during the holiday season. Their constant communication and candor gave me confidence and assurance in the process.
- What would you change about the PIN pad payment process?
Product Manager
I had an initial HR interview over the phone. Then I had a face to face interview with the Director and Manager. Lastly, the HR Manager called over a period of months with status updates. Very long and drawn out process.
- Evaluate a new product request and provide your analysis.
Software Engineer
So first, a recruiter called me, just asking about my resume and the job description. Then, a manager called me for a phone interview. We chatted for like 40 minutes about the job, my skills, and they asked some technical questions right then on the phone. After that, I went to the Merchant Link office for an in-person interview. That was about an hour and a half, and they asked me about real company problems and how I'd handle them. I got the job offer about a week after that last interview. The whole thing from the first recruiter call to starting the job was about 3 weeks.
- Some technical questions about real company issues: python, sql, store procedure, concurency, etc
