First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mercedes-Benz Mobility.
Intern
The interview at Daimler was very pleasant and professional. From the beginning, there was an open and appreciative atmosphere, which made it easy for me to present myself authentically. The interviewers were well-prepared, interested, and asked targeted questions about my professional background, my previous experiences, and my motivation.
- What do you want to get out of the internship?
Team Lead
I had a first call with them, but the interviewer was late. They seemed rushed, asked questions out of order, and interrupted me a lot, which was disrespectful. After about 20 minutes, they ended the call abruptly. Later, I got a very unprofessional email with many typos that didn't even clearly state I was rejected, but it did ask for my feedback on their process, which was odd since they gave none on my performance.
- Could you explain what collections are?
Senior Program Manager
I went through 3 rounds of technical and managerial interviews. Everything seemed to go well. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back from HR afterwards. It's frustrating because they should at least respond professionally and provide feedback. They just went silent for a month. I even sent two emails with no reply. It was a complete waste of my time. A company that doesn't respect a candidate's time isn't a good place to work.
- Can you walk me through what your typical day looks like?
- Could you share some of your general experience in management?
Business Development Trainee
A few days after submitting my online application, I received an invitation for an online assessment test. This included the typical pattern recognition tests and a personality test. The results of the test were received the next day, but without any indication of whether I was suitable for the position. After about a month, I was invited to an assessment center, which took place a week after the online assessment test. Five candidates were invited per trainee position. We had to complete another online assessment test to test our speed and accuracy, which is apparently very important on the first day. This was followed by an English test, where candidates had to freely discuss a given topic with a native speaker. Then there was a self-presentation and a group discussion observed by 6 people. At the end of the first day, we were informed whether we had qualified for the next day. Three candidates proceed to the next day, which begins with a welcome from the department head of the relevant department (for which you applied) and their HR department. The candidates were then given a position-relevant case study and had to present it on a flip chart. Then came a role-play in another room to find out how candidates react to difficult subordinates when they themselves are in a leadership position. Finally, there was a presentation by the department head and their HR department and a conversation with them.
