First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mercantile Bank.
Analyst
First, there was a phone call with some basic questions. Then an in-person interview where I had to take an accounting test. The last interview was also in-person and with multiple people. The whole thing took about 1-2 weeks, depending on when I could do it.
- Tell me about how you handle tough situations.
Commercial Credit Intern
So, first there was this phone interview, super easy, just talking about myself and my resume. Then, I had a quick accounting test, and after that, an in-person chat with two credit team folks, which was way more detailed. The last interview was with the Commercial Credit Manager at Mercantile Bank, and it was pretty chill and conversational, not as technical as the previous one. I got the offer soon after.
- Besides your career ambitions, what are you deeply passionate about?
IT End User Support Specialist
Normal interview then hands on exam. The verbal interview process seemed typical, but the hands on exam portion of troubleshooting a sabotaged pc seemed a little difficult. Little guidance was given and some changes required admin rights which they said nothing about prior.
- Tell me about your current experience.
Account Analyst
It was a friendly panel interview. The questions weren't too difficult, and it was pretty easy to get into the flow of the interview. It was mostly technical questions that required you to apply your financial knowledge. You also needed to know about some of the bank's products.
- Candidate, tell me about yourself.
