The application process is incredibly disrespectful of candidates' time and I highly advise Mend to reconsider their practices. Here is a timeline. 10/8 HR screening with Dana 13/8 Technical interview with Gideon 15/8 Assignment received 20/8 Passed assignment, presentation scheduled 23/8 Presentation with Linda and Mackenzie 11/10 Rejection Over the period of month and a half since the presentation, I was in contact with Dana, who originally told me I'd have an answer by September 4th at the latest. I didn't hear back so I called and was informed other candidates were still being interviewed, but I'd receive an answer in another couple days. I call back and I'm told to wait another couple days and another couple days. A month after delivering the presentation, I am no longer interested in Mend, but I called Dana anyways. She told me additional candidates were still being interviewed. I hope Mend will take my words into consideration and provide future candidates with a more respectful experience.

Started off good, seemed like a nice company with cool people. The first couple of interviews were alright - a basic on-site tech interview and then a Codility test. The third interview was another technical one, tougher this time. After that, the tech lead said we were wrapping things up, just needed to meet the CTO. But then, out of the blue, another tech lead called and gave me a new home assignment. It was a pain - the task description was incomplete, and then I got totally confused during the discussion about it. I ended up opting out. Seriously, four technical tests in a row is just bad form.

The interview process had 4 rounds. The first was with the team lead, discussing my past experiences and technical accomplishments while they explained the role. Next was a timed take-home assessment, which was quite simple and manageable over a weekend. This was followed by a group interview with the hiring manager, where we went over technical questions and reviewed the take-home assignment, along with some ITIL-style questions. The final round was an interview with a VP or a senior executive focusing on culture fit. I genuinely enjoyed the entire interview process; it felt fun and straightforward, more like a conversation. However, I had to decline as it wasn't the career path I was looking for.

I was contacted by HR and then scheduled a technical Zoom interview with the team lead. I got rejected after the technical interview, and there was supposed to be another HR interview after the technical one. The process was short and fast overall. HR sent a generic rejection email, which was a bit disappointing as I'm used to at least receiving a rejection call, especially in late interview stages.
