Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Memorial Hermann Health System.
Intern
I interviewed with two HR folks, but nobody from the department hiring for the intern role was there. The HR people didn't have much info about the specific job. It felt like a standard interview, mostly just a list of questions with not much back-and-forth. They took turns asking. It was easy, but I didn't learn much.
- Tell me about a time when you faced competing priorities and how you managed to resolve them.
Intern
I had a Zoom meeting with the CXO. It was very casual and felt more like a chat with a friend than a typical interview. They didn't ask cliché questions and made me feel really comfortable. I talked about my past work and internship experiences, and they were very engaged. It felt like a unique experience, not like other interviews where you're just another candidate. I left feeling positive and confident, and I'm really excited about the job, the department, and the future plans.
- Could you share some instances from your consumer experience?
- Can you give me examples of your consumer experience?
Intern
I had a 30-minute on-campus interview and then a 40-minute to 1-hour on-site interview. Both were pretty relaxed, not many technical questions, but they did ask about my conceptual understanding of finance. They seemed more focused on whether I'd be interested in a long-term career in healthcare and not jump to another industry.
- Could you explain the primary functions of finance?
