First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Memorial Blood Centers.
Manager
I went through a three-stage interview process which included a phone call, an in-person meeting, and a video call. After the interviews, I had to follow up myself for an update and was informed that I didn't get the job. No feedback or constructive criticism was provided.
- How do you best handle conflicts between employees?
Grant Writer
So, the first thing was a phone screen with the HR Manager. Then, I went in for a face to face interview with the Director of Marketing and Development and a major gifts officer. They asked pretty standard questions like walk through my resume, how to research and construct a grant, why the organization and its mission is attractive to me, what type of feedback I like, how I work with minimal supervision, and how I develop and maintain relationships. I also had to provide writing samples and brought a portfolio I already had made, which really impressed them. After that, I had a second face to face interview with the Director of Training and Education. She asked me about managing relationships and project management/time. I met again with the major gifts officer and director of marketing and development for 30-minute sessions where I asked them questions. My final interview was yesterday, a phone call with the director of marketing and development, and she offered me the job right then. HR is sending a formal offer in the mail. The whole thing took about 3 weeks and I start Monday.

Data Entry Clerk
Got a call from HR not too long after applying and they had me come in for an interview the same day. I met with the department manager and ended up getting an offer about 2 to 3 weeks later. The process took a bit longer than expected since the manager was traveling a lot for work at the time. The interview covered my computer skills, technical abilities, and work ethic.
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
Lab Assistant
The interview process was quick and easy. First, there was a phone screen, which was actually the toughest part because the interviewer seemed uninterested. Then, I went on-site for the interview. Before the actual interview started, I had to fill out a lot of paperwork. It was just one interviewer on-site. I got the offer the very next business day.
- What were the main responsibilities of your previous job?
