I reached out to someone at the company on LinkedIn, and they forwarded my resume to the hiring manager. HR quickly set up a 30-minute phone interview with the Sr. Analytics Manager, who asked about my current role and resume projects. After that, I was invited for an onsite interview a week later. This interview lasted 2.5 hours and involved meeting all the senior members of the media and analytics team. It was a very conversational and direct discussion, with a strong emphasis on cultural fit.

The first phone interview went great. Then the in-person interview didn't go so well. There wasn't much discussion about the actual job. The interviewers were alright, though one was a bit rude, didn't shake my hand at the end, and just walked off without saying goodbye. It felt like a bad first date overall. I knew within the first 5 minutes that I wasn't a good fit for this company and wasn't what they were looking for. The interview, which was supposed to be an hour but I waited 30 minutes and then interviewed for 20, took a nosedive when I asked about work/life balance. They responded that work pretty much consumes their lives.

I spoke with a recruiter on the phone, then had video calls with my potential manager, two people on the team, and the head of my department. I was supposed to meet with the ECD, but she never showed up. After these five interviews, they said they were choosing between me and another candidate and gave me a decision date. That date passed, and after I followed up a few times, they ghosted me. I'm really disappointed that after all the time I spent, they treated me like this. It doesn't take much to send an email saying they chose someone else. Because of this experience, I wouldn't work there.
