First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Meissner Filtration Products.
Materials Scientist
I had two virtual interviews. The first was with the talent acquisition specialist, and the second was with the associate director. The first round was a phone screening where they asked questions to get to know me, my skills, and my past experiences. The second round included more technical questions about my work style and how I handle challenges. They were also good about keeping me updated on the process.
- Which product from our website sparks your interest the most?
- In your past supervisor's opinion, what are the five words that best describe you?
- Can you describe how you'd communicate technical concepts to a non-technical customer?
Applications Engineer
I started with a recruiter call. I originally applied for a different role and had an onsite with that team. They asked me about my interests. Afterward, the talent lead suggested I speak with another team for a role they thought was a better fit. I then had a call with the hiring manager for that team and another onsite with team members. The whole thing took about 2-3 weeks because of my schedule. The questions were pretty standard. My last onsite felt a bit daunting with the whole team there, but everyone was really nice and welcoming.
- Could you describe a project you completed in a past role or during your studies?
- What motivates your search for a new job or opportunity?
- What topics or activities capture your interest?
Sales
I have never experienced such a dubious, unprofessional and dishonest interview process. Completely false expectations were raised and totally misleading verbal statements were made which, in retrospect, can only be described as lies. The climax came when I got a message a few weeks later from another talent scout at the company who wanted to tell me about the exact same job they already rejected me a few weeks earlier because they said that they had a more suitable candidate . That showed me what I can think of their statements and their final feedback during the whole interview process. Don't fall for their "great culture" and "it is important to us what kind of character the candidates have" . They pretend to be different from other companies but they were not.
- How would you go about finding new customers?
- What's your strategy for persuading customers to finalize a deal?
- Can you tell me about your existing customer base and your duties?
AutoCAD Drafter
It was a lengthy 3-interviews process, but understandably so. They are trying to ensure that the interviewees are a good fit in the culture. The first interview is a phone call to share more information about what the company does and who they are. The second interview is a webcam interview to talk to the interviewee (this is the actual interview process) where they get to truly know the interviewee. The third interview is a tour of the facility to share what the company does on a daily basis. They are currently doing construction, so that might limit what you can see.
- Can you describe how you organize your tasks when they are assigned to you?
