First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mega Corporate Operations.
Facilities Manager
I had a three-person interview experience, which felt more like three separate interviews that took up half my day rather than a panel. The interviewers were pleasant and focused on different skills, which was good. Their follow-up and organization, however, were really bad. I sent thank-you emails the morning after the interviews, and only one person replied. I heard nothing back after that, not even a rejection. I followed up with the hiring manager two weeks later and still got no response. About three weeks later, the person who originally replied to my thank-you email sent a generic email about scheduling an intro call to review my work history for the role. I pointed out that I'd already spoken with the hiring manager and met her, the hiring manager, and another manager on a specific date. There was no reply, and seven months later, they are still frequently reposting the job opening. Although I didn't get a clear rejection, the lack of communication and the continuous reposting of the job suggest I wasn't selected.
- Could you describe your preferred work style?
Store Operations
The interview process was really bad, communication was horrible and the follow-up was even worse. I interviewed in person with several different people. It was unclear what they were actually looking for in a candidate. The office itself wasn't very welcoming to visitors, with no reception area.
- Can you tell me about your past work experiences?
- What made you apply for this role?
- What is your background related to store operations?
Marketing Analyst
I applied through the external job ad. First, I had a quick video call with the recruiter, who was really nice and easy to talk to. Then, I went to the office for an in-person interview with about 4 people from the team who met with me at different times. The questions were typical behavioral ones, with some technical follow-ups.
- Could you walk me through your background and resume?
- Do you have any behavioral questions for us?
User Experience Designer
This was a really smooth and professional interview process. They set up meeting times that worked for both me and the interviewer, and all the calls and interviews started right on time.
- The hiring manager will ask you about all the areas the company needs your focus on, so be sure to review the job requirements and share your honest experiences.
- Make sure you've looked into what the company is looking for and are ready to speak truthfully about your background.
