First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mega Cat Studios.
Visual Lead
It was a very chill interview. The owner did most of the talking and shared the history of him and his studio. No test was needed. They are very big on company culture. It was less about your technical skill or the knowledge that you need for the field.
- Can you tell me about your past work?
- What are your career aspirations?
QA Game Tester
So, the interview process was pretty straightforward. It started with a quick 15-minute chat, and then moved on to a 2-hour assessment specifically for QA Game Testing. Honestly, it wasn't too tough if you're solid on your resume, your past experiences, and any personal projects you've worked on, because that's what we'll be diving into.
- Can you walk me through your resume and experiences?
- Could you tell me more about your personal projects?
2D Artist
The interview process was split into two parts: first, an initial screening where I was asked some questions, and second, a short hands-on trial where I had to provide a deliverable that met the interview's expectations.
- They mostly asked about my work ethics and team culture, and if I understood and agreed with their expectations for my responsibilities as an artist.
- While my interview deliverables were important, Mega Cat Studios seemed to prioritize culture fit and strong work ethics.
Pixel Artist
So the interview process was a little different than the usual, instead of a video call, it was a chat interview on Slack. This gave me time to really think about my answers. After the chat, there's a one-month paid trial period to see how I do.
- What salary are you expecting?
- What department would you prefer to work in?
