First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Meesho.
Manager
I applied online and then HR got in touch within a week. The whole thing was pretty straightforward and organized. First, there was an HR screening where they were nice and explained the job, asking about my background, what I want in my career, and when I could start. Then, a technical/case study round where they threw some problem-solving and scenario questions my way to check my tech skills and how I think. Finally, a managerial/panel round that was more about seeing if I'd fit in, how I handle people, and if my values match the company's. It was more of a chat than an intense interview.
- In situations involving multiple stakeholders, how do you tackle problem-solving?
Business Manager
The interview process had 2 rounds. They asked questions based on guesstimates, CV, and RCA sometimes. After the first round, there was an HR round, and then results were announced. Overall, it was a good, very good experience. I'm trying to hit 30 words, but life is tough. I'm doing my level best. Wait, let me finish 30 words first. Only then can I see what I want. Thank you, I guess 30 are done.
- How many non-commercial movies were released in India?
Business Manager
The interview process started with basic category manager questions in Round 1, like how to build a category from scratch. Round 2 involved a problem statement about product returns, RTO, low fill rate, and low bill to ship to dates. Round 3 was an assignment to do market sizing for the Home Furnishing category in India, which was discussed in detail. Round 4 was with a Director, where I was given a case study and asked about my CV and past experience. I was initially told the process would end there and I'd get an offer soon. However, a week later, HR scheduled another round. Round 5 was with the Chief of Staff, where I was unexpectedly asked about fundraising, which isn't typical for a Business Manager role. I was rejected after this round, even though it was supposed to be a 4-round process. HR later admitted confusion about the process and offered a potential Round 6 with a Business Head. I prepared all weekend for this, but on Monday, I was informed there would be no more rounds. Overall, it was a poorly handled and disturbing experience.
- What are your thoughts on how to build a category from scratch, and what follow-up questions do you have?
- How would you approach a problem statement concerning product returns, RTO, low fill rates, and low bill to ship to dates?
- Can you detail your market sizing assignment for the Home Furnishing category in India?
