Behavioral Presentation

It was a pretty straightforward interview. They covered the basics. The company does cold calling and needs people to be able to 'sell' a benefit, which in their case is an in-home health assessment with one of their providers, so they asked me a question to see if I could do that.

Behavioral Other

After typical interview questions, I went through a non-typical part where I was asked to leave my bag and follow for a drug test. I had brought quality scores from my previous job where I worked for over 14 years and was paid well for essentially the same customer service job. I tried to negotiate a better wage, but the interviewer stated it was to my advantage that I was laid off from ABC co, implying I needed the job and this was the offer. He noted I no longer worked for them. I mentioned I would be commuting 40 miles, and he said many reps work from farther away for even less. I commented on the nice environment and casual attire. He told me I would be part of an elite team, not have casual dress, and not be on the early shift. I declined the offer and received several calls and emails, as I couldn't see myself working for such a boss.

I went to the front desk and spoke with two women who were very nice. They had me fill out an application, which took about 10 minutes. Afterward, one of the supervisors called my name and we had a 15-minute one-on-one interview. Then, I was given a script for a mock phone call where I had to act as a representative speaking to a customer. After being graded on the mock call, I went to the HR office, completed an assessment, and took a drug test.

I sent in my application online, and after about two days, I had a quick phone chat. Then, they set me up for an interview. It was a really positive experience, and they seemed genuinely interested in making sure I'd be a good match not just for the company, but also for the people I'd be contacting to set up appointments.
