I had an HR screening on a Thursday and then was supposed to interview with the VP of Sales four days later. The scheduling link only had three 30-minute time slots, and none worked for me. I told them, but they rejected me the next day. During the HR call, I found out some AEs are hitting 500-600% of quota, which made me wonder about territory distribution and quota fairness. I'm concerned about how accounts are allocated and if success is sustainable.

The interview process here can be a bit unpredictable, and honestly, it's changed since I went through it. For my part, I didn't even have a formal technical interview. I just shared a link to my GitHub profile during a chat with a senior developer and someone else who turned out to be the Engineering Director – it was a bit of a surprise, like a hidden observer. They mainly asked about my previous work, tough spots I'd encountered, and how I dealt with them. After that, I had a conversation with the CTO, which was also focused on my past experiences, and that was pretty much the whole thing. But yeah, things are different now.

It was a simple interview about my experience, the interviewer seemed to be in a hurry as it was close to Christmas. They interviewed me in English even though it wasn't required for the position. It was a straightforward interview, but I'm not sure about their criteria because they didn't offer me a position even after I passed all the technical tests and interviews. First, there was a phone interview, then a technical interview with a programmer, followed by a test, and finally this interview with the head of engineering. I didn't find it very friendly.

The interview was unprofessional. The interviewer did not make eye contact and was distracted, continuing her work for the first few minutes of our virtual call before introducing herself. She continued to work throughout the entire interview. I had to constantly prompt her to understand the role better. My experience and knowledge of business development were greatly underestimated. This is not a sales role, nor does it involve managing sales teams. It's a coaching and management position. Once familiar with the product and company, anyone with experience managing a team with metrics could run this department. The BDRs primarily handle initial customer inquiries and questions before escalating to the sales department. It's essentially a call center or informational role.
