First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Medivation.
Research Associate
The process was super transparent, with no major red flags. The team members asked a lot of good questions. It was nice to meet everyone, and the people were great. They also had great coffee on site. The hiring manager was pleasant and gave me a tour of the office.
- Can you explain the differences between academic and industry research?
Clinical Operations Coordinator
I applied on their website and also used a referral. First, I had a phone chat with HR about my background, experience, and salary ideas. Then, I spoke on the phone with the hiring manager, who asked me more detailed questions about my clinical studies background. When the hiring manager called, she immediately told me the job I applied for was already taken, but they had another role for me. It would have been nice to know beforehand so I could have been more prepared. I wasn't really experienced enough for that other job and didn't end up getting an offer. I also wish they'd emailed me to say they weren't moving forward, as they never even responded to my follow-up email.
- Given that they interviewed me for a different position, most of the questions they asked were unexpected.
IT Analyst
Went through a phone interview and then an onsite interview. The team onsite was nice, but the HR was something else... The whole process took forever, likely due to a really dysfunctional HR department. This company just turned a profit after a decade and is hiring like crazy to catch up. You can really tell everyone's overworked and overwhelmed. They had trouble even getting current employees to make time for interviews. Felt like I had to meet with half the company, sometimes three at once, with questions all over the place. HR was unorganized and scattered, but the people themselves were nice. Just bad at their jobs. Glad I didn't get an offer, I would've rejected it anyway. Hope things get better for them.
- What's your reason for leaving your present employer?
Senior Manager
There was a significant delay between the initial phone screens and the in-person interviews. The entire day was dedicated to meeting with different individuals. The interview date had to be rescheduled multiple times due to their scheduling conflicts. The time spent at the office ran longer than expected because some interviewers were late. The people I met were nice and knew their stuff. The office space itself was really nice and made a good impression.
- Can you share some information about yourself?
- What are your motivations for joining our company?
- What prompts your desire to leave your current role?
