First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Medium Giant.
Media Director
I applied online and heard back from the hiring manager about a week later. They mentioned receiving my application from an unusual source. I was still interested, so I started talking to the manager about scheduling initial interviews. However, the manager became very difficult to reach and inflexible with scheduling. We eventually agreed on a meeting time, but then the manager abruptly rescheduled it to a time outside my original availability without asking me first. I ended up canceling the meeting because the manager didn't respect my time. I wish HR had been involved to help with scheduling and answer basic questions about the company and pay.
- When are you available to interview?
Account Manager
I had a phone interview, I'm not sure if it was in person or over the phone. Then there was a 2nd round interview, and it went okay. I didn't hear back, so I emailed them and they said they were having trouble opening the role or something, so it was a waste of time.
- Why are you the best candidate for this position?
SEO Specialist
The interview process was super chill and moved along fast. The recruiter was really helpful and knew their stuff. I interviewed with the management team, and they seemed super smart and good at leading people. The office itself felt really modern and open, in a great spot in Dallas. I was also really impressed by how much they care about work-life balance. I got a second interview offer but had to back out because of other stuff, nothing to do with the company.
- Can you explain your process for keyword research?
- What do you see as the biggest challenge or chance for improvement in SEO?
- How do you approach client management and relationship building?
Intern
I sent my resume in after getting a referral from a contact on a professional network. Someone from LinkedIn reached out and we talked about when I would graduate, what my plans were for employment, and a bit about the job. Then I was brought in for an interview and got the internship offer about a week after. The interview wasn't too hard for me, but I found out later from some people I work with that maybe I was lucky. It's probably a good idea to get ready for a tougher interview just in case.
- Have you had prior experience with Google Analytics?
