First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Medidata Solutions.
Product Manager
It was a long but pretty good interview process. Everyone I met seemed to have done their homework on my resume and asked really interesting questions. I applied in mid-November and heard back from the recruiter about two weeks later. The first person I spoke with was the hiring manager, followed by meetings with four team members from different departments and two important stakeholders. The recruiter kept me in the loop and was upfront about everything. I got the offer in about six weeks.
- In what ways can you add value to Medidata?

So the interview process started with some phone interviews, then we moved to an online video interview, and finally, an in-person one. The first couple of stages were fine, honestly. But when I actually went to the Medidata office, it was pretty wild. It seemed like a super crowded code farm trying to look like a startup. There was hardly any space. The in-person part felt disorganized; they couldn't even find a proper place for the interview because it was so packed. Everyone's out in the open, crammed into tiny work areas. It was so loud, you could barely hear anything, even in the little conference rooms. Like many startups, they do the whole "cultural fit" thing, which, in my opinion, is just a way to hide potential discrimination. It's weird how they think they can judge "cultural fit" so quickly. I'm always suspicious of companies that make "cultural fit" a big deal because it's so easy to be discriminatory with it. Basically, I didn't like the working environment at Medidata at all. Not much room to breathe. The interviewers themselves were professional but just didn't seem to care. I felt like I was just a backup and they'd already decided on someone else.
- What's prompting your departure from your current role?
Product Manager
So after the initial phone screen, I had a 5-hour interview with a 30-minute break. It was structured like this: First, an HR intro. Then, I met with three different Solution Directors. The second one was actually the hiring manager. After them, I interviewed with the team I'd be working with, including people who would report to me. Finally, there was a last interview with the hiring manager.
