After an initial recruiter call to schedule, I had a phone interview with 3 people who were very kind. The interview itself was formal, starting with typical questions like 'tell me about yourself,' 'what are your weaknesses,' and 'why would you be a good fit.' I did my best to answer. They described the role in a way that sounded really daunting, which I don't think they meant to do, but it felt like a scare tactic. Overall, though, the vibe was pretty relaxed.

I saw the company's job postings all over the internet, from Monster to Craigslist. I applied on their website, which was pretty easy. The first call I had was with HR, who had a list of questions to check if I had the skills I said I did. The issue was, she didn't really get what she was asking and couldn't explain it well. A major con was the pay talk. Nobody likes to bring it up first, but she insisted on it. When I told her my minimum salary expectation for someone with my background, her interest seemed to drop, which made me think it was way more than they wanted to pay. They kept advertising these jobs for five months, so I guess they're still hunting for that unicorn: years of experience with low pay demands.

There were 2 rounds plus an HR interview round. All rounds were in person. First, a phone interview with HR/recruiter, then an interview with the hiring manager, followed by an interview with peers and/or executive leadership. Then, a reference check, background check, and finally, a job offer.
