Applied online for an Admin job, but HR said it was filled and offered me a Customer Service/Scheduler role. During that phone screen, I mentioned wanting to be a recruiter, and they then offered me an interview for a Physician Recruiter position. We did that interview right then and scheduled an in-person for early the next week. The in-person interview was chaotic - nobody was at the front desk, the door was locked, and I had to wait outside for about 10 minutes until someone let me in. I had to fill out a paragraph about the role and then met with 2 HR people and the Physician Recruiter Manager. The whole thing felt disorganized and unprofessional, like they were desperate. Questions were basic and it was fast. Nice building and view though. I got another offer so I didn't wait to hear back from them.

I first responded to a Craigslist ad for the role. Then, I had a phone interview with a recruiter based in Seattle. After that, I met with the Office Manager and some senior management folks from Seattle (who were from MCN HQ) at the Naperville office. I really liked the people from Seattle, but looking back, I probably should have paid more attention to what the local office manager said, since I'd be working with them most of the time.

Submitted resume and cover letter via Craigslist. Seattle HR contacted me for basic questions about experience and what I'm looking for. Got a call the same day to set up an interview with the Naperville office manager, which happened two days later. The interview was about 45 minutes with the same questions about skills and experience. The office manager mentioned it's not really a scheduling job, which I should have seen as a warning. The next day, Seattle HR called to arrange a flight to WA for the corporate office interview. The corporate team was great, enthusiastic, and MCN seemed like a good company with good culture and growth potential. I'd work in Seattle in a second. I passed their verbal interview with HR and a senior manager, which involved a question about how to reply to a customer complaint letter and a "what would you do" scenario. I received a job offer before leaving the office.

The HR Manager reached out to me on LinkedIn with info about the position. We had a phone interview about a week later where she asked a variety of questions about my past work experiences, interests, etc. During the phone interview, we set up a date and time for an in-person interview. A week later, I went to the interview and met the office staff and manager. There was some writing involved, many questions, and I even had to role play a given situation. The manager was great and very easy to talk to. I was nervous but she made me feel comfortable. The questions were very detailed and significant to the position. I found the interview a little challenging at times but it was a refreshing experience. The interview was very structured and you could tell the manager really cared about giving the position to someone dedicated. Overall, I believe this is how all interviews should be conducted and I enjoyed the experience.
