First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mediacurrent.
Digital Designer
Started with a phone call with HR, then another with the creative director. Got a design challenge with three parts. Then had a virtual meeting with six people to present my ideas and get feedback. It seemed like a good team and went well, but I got a standard rejection email even though I completed a task and met with multiple people. I emailed HR directly, but it felt like it undid the connections I made with everyone. It would have been more professional to get a personal response instead of a generic email, especially since the process went beyond just an initial chat.
- Can you explain your reasoning for selecting the larger size for the additional video you produced?
Customer Service Representative
The interview process began with an initial phone screen with HR. The call felt very scripted and impersonal, like they were just checking boxes from a list rather than genuinely trying to understand me or ask follow-up questions. I was really interested in the company and the job, but this call made me wonder if the company culture was generally this detached. I followed up with emails and didn't hear back from HR until I contacted them a second time. After a month of no communication, I was rejected, and both rejection emails were automated. I understand they can't send personal emails to everyone, but if a candidate asks for feedback, it would be good to get a specific response instead of a generic automated one, maybe to avoid legal issues. I do wish the company the best and was truly excited about the organization and opportunity.

Client Success Manager
HR was quick to reach out for an interview. The phone screening and a chat with a C-level exec took 18 days total. I guess it could've taken another 2-3 weeks since there were two more interviews left. The Glassdoor reviews seem spot-on about the company culture. You can really hear it in their voices when you talk to the team. The talks were energizing and the people are super knowledgeable. You'd learn stuff even if you don't get the job. Even though I didn't get picked, I'd still tell people to apply. The employees seem genuinely happy, live the culture they talk about, and know their stuff like you see in their webcasts.
- Given your background in customer success and business development operations, how would you apply that experience to a client-facing role, and can you provide some examples?
Drupal Developer
There were about five or six calls in total, each lasting about half an hour to an hour. We also exchanged emails, and there was a comprehensive exam to test Drupal and PHP development skills. The phone calls were with different people, and they wanted to gauge my passion and abilities in various areas. It was also a chance for me to learn more about the company and confirm my interest in the role. The whole process was really helpful, and by the end, I felt like I knew Mediacurrent well.
- Can you discuss your technical experience as listed on your resume?
