I was asked to do a Python code exercise, which they liked. Then I had a video call with two interviewers, but only one showed up. Apparently, I was being considered for two different teams, but I wasn't clear on what the selection criteria were. After that, they flew me to LA for an in-person interview. I got there and was asked some technical, non-technical, and architectural questions. It was pretty standard stuff, and the people were nice. I went home and waited. About a week later, I had a phone call with a VP where we discussed the role and the company's future, which I had some concerns about given the market. I didn't hear anything for a while, but the recruiter and one of the hiring managers invited me on LinkedIn. After a couple more weeks, I figured I didn't get the job and messaged the recruiter for confirmation. He confirmed they weren't moving forward and offered to explain why over the phone, but I declined. It felt like a waste of time in the end, though I don't regret the experience itself. I'm still wondering why that hiring manager wanted to connect on LinkedIn.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process is lengthy, indicating they are thorough in their hiring. It felt more like a conversation, with detailed discussions about my resume and situational questions. The culture seems cool but also a bit clique-y and hipster. Dress well and have savings, as the process can take 6-8 weeks or longer. I'm unsure why I didn't get an offer, as the interview seemed to go well and I met the qualifications. I suspect they focus on appearance and cultural fit. It seems like a great company to join if you can get in. Research them and ask informed questions.

Behavioral Technical

I interviewed with Media Temple twice for different roles. The first time, about a year ago, the Operations Manager contacted me for a marketing job. I met with them, including my potential manager, and it seemed like a good fit. They said they'd get back to me in a week or two, but after following up, I never heard back, which felt unprofessional. A few months ago, the same Operations Manager, now recruiting independently, reached out. He apologized for the previous experience and told me about another position he thought I'd be perfect for. I decided to give it another shot. I had a great interview with the person in charge of the website's product and felt positive. I was told I'd hear back in a few weeks. The recruiter contacted me later with good news: I was their top candidate and they wanted to hire me. The catch was that the budget for the role wouldn't be available for another 60-90 days. I was patient and followed up every few weeks, but the recruiter kept saying the department head hadn't responded to him. After 90 days, I asked for a final update, and he said the department head still hadn't replied to his emails or calls. While the people seemed nice, the lack of professionalism and courtesy in both instances makes me hesitant to recommend them. I did get a free t-shirt on one visit, so I didn't leave completely empty-handed.

Technical Behavioral

The interview process had 3 rounds. We started with an initial phone screening. Then, there was a technical interview via video conference with 2 interviewers. I felt it went well, and they seemed impressed by my knowledge. The last round was another video conference with 4 interviewers. That also seemed to go smoothly, and one of them even mentioned I was one of the few candidates who answered some technical questions correctly. My overall impression was that I was a strong candidate for the role. However, they were very slow to respond to questions. After a month, I received an email stating they couldn't move forward with my application. Extremely disappointed.
