First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mechanics Bank.
Retirement Plan Administrator
It was an easy process. The people were honest and hardworking, and not difficult to speak with. It's great when companies have a process like this. I heard back pretty quickly after they verified my employment history.
- Can you tell me about your history and skills that apply to this role?
- Are you eager to learn new things?
Personal Banker
I had an HR screening call on Wednesday and then a Webex interview the following Monday since I'm currently in a different state. It was a really good conversation with excellent questions asked. Both interviewers were very polite and easy to talk to. Overall, it was a good experience.
- Regarding documentation needed for a Partnership, what is required?
Financial Services Associate
Scheduling the interview was straightforward, with a confirmation email and a set time. I planned it for my lunch break, but the interviewer never called. After waiting five minutes, I called them, but no one answered. About 20 minutes past the scheduled time, I finally got a call. Since I had limited time, I kept my answers brief. The next day, the same recruiter contacted me to discuss a different candidate. All in all, it was the worst interview experience I've ever had.
- Can you tell me what you know about Mechanics Bank?
Operations Specialist
I went through 3 interviews for this role, starting with the recruiter and then two more with the managers. After the interviews, I was selected for the position and they got back to me after about 3 weeks. I had followed up after 2 weeks, and they told me they hadn't finished their final selection yet. At that point, I figured I wasn't getting the job. It felt like they ghosted me after 3 interviews.
- What are your peers' perceptions of you?
