First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Administrative Assistant
There were three interviews in total. The first was with one staff member via Teams. The second was an in-person panel interview with 4 staff (two admins, 2 managing). The 3rd and final interview was via Teams with one staff member. From the day of applying to the final interview took a little over a month. My start date was about 3 weeks after accepting the offer, so the entire process moved pretty quickly. The team was great to meet and they asked very thoughtful questions. It was clear immediately that MDA cares deeply about who they bring onboard, which is to be appreciated. The questions themselves were not extremely difficult but what makes it difficult (depending on whether interviewing makes you nervous or not) is the 3 interview process.
- One question that is asked in all three interviews, including the subsequent phone call with the recruiter to discuss pay and benefits, is why MD Anderson?
Administrative Assistant
It wasn't too bad, pretty easy and informal. It felt a little disorganized though because I had to come in three days in a row for interviews with a panel, two doctors, and the office manager. They could have organized it better to do it all in one go. They didn't really ask any situational questions. The panel mostly shared their thoughts and opinions on their experiences working here and what they like about it.
- What's your main objective for working here?
Administrative Assistant
The recruiter was rude and incompetent, forgetting to tell me my start date was cancelled because HR was out for team building. They came back drunk. No apology was given. I learned that for the two jobs I interviewed for, the only candidates initially presented were young minority females, often friends of recruiters.
- The iPEP personality testing was bizarre.
