First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at McWhinney.
Operations Manager
The hiring process from start to finish can take up to six weeks, mainly due to our People Services Department's procedures. After you apply online, there's a phone interview, followed by an interview with the hiring team. Even after that, it might take another two weeks to get an offer out to the candidate.
- I don't know what questions are asked during the phone interview because People Services handles them, not the hiring manager.
Senior Project Manager
So first, we had this phone interview, and after that, it was a group interview with a panel, and then we did an individual interview.
- Can you describe your ideal manager?
Senior Financial Analyst
I applied online and got a call the very next day to schedule a phone interview. They asked some really weird, old-school questions, like 'what's your favorite history icon and why?'. The whole interview felt a bit strange and generic. We didn't really connect, and even though I sent a thank you email, I never heard back.
- Tell me about your favorite history icon and explain your choice.
Vice President
I had an initial chat with someone from HR, and then a video call with about six or seven people from the department.
- Tell me about your experience and how it fits this role.
