First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at McNichols Company.
Customer Service Sales Representative
It was a no-fuss interview process. They're looking for honest people willing to put in a hard day's work. The questions were typical, no surprises, and the interviewers were chill. Overall, it was a relaxed experience.
- What are you hoping to gain from this new role?

Recruiter cold called me at my job (seems standard now). I didn't answer, but we texted to set up a call later that day for a phone screen. Phone screen went well, and she offered to connect me with the manager if we moved forward. Still looked good. I met with the manager virtually, and we seemed to connect well, conversation flowed, and my qualifications met their needs. Second interview was in-person with a few department members. Again, it flowed smoothly (guessing by design). No follow-up, nothing. Tells me all I need to know about working there, as their recruiting process isn't professional enough for even a canned email.
- Are you open to a 5-day in-office work week?
Customer Service Manager
I applied online and had a phone interview the next business day. Then I got a personality test that takes about an hour. About a week later, I had a face-to-face interview with 3 people, though one was there the whole time and 2 others popped in and out. They said it would take a "few weeks" to decide since they had internal candidates. I never heard back, and didn't get any feedback. They weren't really selling the company, but were honest about the workload.
- Given a CSR's phone metrics, how would you assist them in improving?
Operations Manager
got two phone calls to set up a phone interview. then two separate interviews with a panic call from them asking me to fill out an application then to drive back to the area to do some pre employment screening (it was supposed to be all set up ready to go but I ended up waiting for more than an hour to get them to send in the required paperwork). was offered the job with several promises (most were not met)
- The interviewer selected two of the five permanent company values (integrity and competence) and asked for my personal definition of each.
- I was given the five company values and asked to define integrity and competence as they relate to me.
