Operations Specialist
I found the job on their website and applied. A recruiter called me the next day and we set up a phone interview to talk about my experience. Then we scheduled an in-person interview for the next week. When I got there, I filled out some forms. After that, another recruiter showed me around the offices and warehouse, asking questions about operations and problem-solving as we went. We then went to a room to discuss how my background fit the job. A supervisor then came in and we went over my experience in more detail. She gave me a catalog and tested my ability to find info and answer questions from it. They said I'd hear back within a week, and I did on Friday. The whole thing took about two hours and gave me a good feel for the company.
- What would it take for your current employer to retain you?
Operations Specialist
The strangest interview I've ever had. It started with an HR recruiter screening call, which went fine. A few days later, I had another phone interview. Then, they set me up to interview at their office in Ewing, NJ. The HR recruiter kept mentioning how transparent they are with interviews, and even brought up negative Glassdoor reviews, which felt like a red flag. The person who was supposed to interview me didn't show up. The gentleman who did interview me seemed rushed and uninterested. He gave me a quick tour of the office and then we sat down. He didn't ask me anything about myself or my experience. Instead, his questions were all 'Why do you think we do X?' or 'Why do you think we don't do Y?'. He also kept repeating that internal moves are lateral and suggested I might rethink if it's a good fit after the interview. No offer was made, which was fine after that experience and reading the reviews.
- What are your thoughts on our bin setup and the reasons behind it?
- Why do you think we don't send catalogs to all our clients?
Operations Specialist
Two recruiters gave me a tour of the warehouse, and then we went to the offices upstairs for the interview. They also had me do a "customer inquiry" task, where I had to find an item on their company website and then email them a response. The whole thing took about an hour and a half.
- What qualities do you seek in a supervisor?
