A lot of non-technical people are interviewing technical people, which I find really unpleasant. It's clear the "management" interviewers don't really understand what SWEs do. If you're a technically skilled person, this interview process will drive you crazy.

I got the chance to interview after meeting a recruiter at a career fair on campus. We met the next day at a cafe, and the interview was pretty chill. The interviewer was nice and easy to chat with. They mostly asked about my resume and previous jobs, nothing too technical. It wrapped up in under an hour. I sent a thank you email with her contact info, but didn't hear back directly. About a week later, a recruiting coordinator had me fill out some paperwork, which I sent in that same night. The very next morning, I got a generic rejection email from the same coordinator. The whole thing went down in 8 days.

I applied via resume drop at my university's career fair and got a call back. The interview was about 30 minutes. The interviewer went over my resume, but was young and unprofessional. They didn't ask much besides 'walk me through your resume' and didn't let me elaborate. They also couldn't answer my questions.
