It was a really easy interview, but you had to be able to explain what was happening as it unfolded by paying attention to the details from beginning to end, but overall it was a good experience.

I thought the hiring was easy since the chief nursing officer said they really needed nurses at Loris. But I was wrong! I was interviewed by someone in the Labor and Delivery/nursery department at Loris and she ended up turning me down. Initially, she asked a lot of checklist questions, gave me details about the salary and routine, and even gave me a tour of the work area. After our discussion, she told me to wait two weeks, but I heard nothing. No phone calls or anything. She just gave me false reassurance. This stupid interview wasted my time. I know McLeod Loris is one of the worst hospitals around. They don't value people who are eager to work, and now they complain about a shortage of nurses.

I was interviewed and I found it very unprofessional that the staff who conducted my interview spoke negatively of the company. I appreciated the honesty and forwardness, but until then, I had been very excited about the opportunity. I was offered the position at $16 an hour, which would have been a pay cut (salary was not advertised nor disclosed in the interview), when I was called I explained this and asked if there was any flexibility in the hiring range, and pressed to give a number. I was told, he would get back to me, and a week later I received a rejection email. I of course wanted to file a complaint for the overall unprofessionalism I experienced, however feared repercussions in the future should I want to apply for a role with the company. Also during my interview, I was asked a question that started with "I know we're not supposed to ask this, but.." and found it difficult to navigate.

The interview involved asking many questions about the knowledge needed for the role. They also asked about my family and my previous job. They asked about my future goals and if I planned to further my nursing education.
