First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at McCoy Russell.
Customer Service Representative
It was a great experience, they asked thoughtful questions and gave me plenty of time. The people were friendly and considered my questions, even encouraging me to ask them. It did go on longer than I expected, but I'd still tell anyone interested in working here to go for it.
- What is your motivation for seeking this position?
File Clerk
I saw the ad on craigslist, which didn't specify the location or name of the firm, so I wasn't sure who to address my cover letter to. I submitted my application at 9am, and by 2pm, I received an email inviting me for an interview the next day at 12pm. When I arrived, Sarah and Megan met me. They explained what the firm does, who's involved in the process, and what the role entails. It was a clear and concise interview, setting expectations for the job.
- What makes you want to work here?
Patent Technology Specialist
I found the job posting on Craigslist and emailed my resume. Then I was invited for an in-person interview. It turned out my skills weren't a good fit for what they needed. It was disappointing and awkward, and I feel like they could have been clearer in the ad and done a better job screening applicants. There was no follow-up after the interview, and later I saw the ad re-posted.
- How proficient are you in chemistry, math, physics, and mechanics?
Legal Assistant
It was a one-on-one, in-person interview. The interviewer was pretty chill and friendly, not intimidating at all. They were basically trying to understand my background and see how committed I am to the role.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience in this field?
