Intern
Hiring for internships is often through connections or if they're really in need, they'll post on university boards. I had 2 interviews because the first person I was supposed to meet left the company after my holiday. It starts with a written test where you translate about 3 ads from Chinese to English for different brands. It's not super hard, but your English needs to be better than your Chinese. They don't seem to pay too much attention to it after you submit it. After about 45 minutes, they come back and interview you about your personality and why you're interested in advertising. It's pretty straightforward.
- The written test was the hardest part because some cosmetic ad terms are very scientific.
Intern
It was one interview with HR where they asked a bunch of questions about my experience, and for creative roles, they looked at my portfolio. There were also some surprise questions, like asking about the last book I read. It wasn't too difficult, but there were a lot of questions overall.
- Could you tell me about the last book you read for fun and what made it engaging for you?
Intern
After submitting a work example, there was one behavioral interview. The interviewer asked basic CV and motivational questions. It was a very straightforward and smooth process, and I heard back the same day.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in advertising?
- What advertising campaigns have you found interesting?
- What are your past experiences related to this role?
