I connected with a recruiter at a job fair in NYC, and she told me to email her. I got a call from her the next day and she sent me an application that I couldn't find online anywhere else, so it seems like you need a connection to even apply. I had a phone interview with pretty standard questions, and she was really impressed with my prior internship at a sister company, and also very interested in my other experiences. I made a video and sent a paragraph for the application, and they called me that same week.

Behavioral Technical

It was supposed to be an easy phone interview, but I got nervous and rambled. It's frustrating because I usually have great phone skills with everyone. It's just harder when you're personally on the other side. I'm sure it was tough for the recruiter to follow. I was asked to go through my resume, which I had right there. It should have been easy. But that part of my brain that normally works just shut off, and I just talked too much. It wasn't awful, just not as good as it should have been. The frustrating part is I know I could do a perfect job in this role. I'm already doing this kind of work and always succeed. So, recruiters, give people a second chance sometimes; we're only human. Talking about yourself can ironically not show who you really are. Even the president messes up sometimes.

I had one interview with the hiring manager where we talked about my personal and past experiences. It was mostly a personal sharing session so they could get to know me better.
