I met a manager at an event, and he invited me to his office for what I thought was a networking chat. It ended up being a full interview where we went over my resume and work experience. He then asked me to come back to meet other people. I got an employment application and a request for a background check permission from their home office. I asked what position I was applying for, but didn't get a clear answer, so I left some parts of the application blank. I said I'd give permission for the background check if they were serious about hiring me. It was a strange experience that didn't lead to anything.

I had a phone chat with the recruiter first. Then, I went to the office and met with the HR manager for about half an hour. After that, I did a writing test for 20 minutes where I had to draft a response to a complaint letter. Then, I interviewed with the attorney I'd be reporting to and also met the other contract administrator. The whole thing took about 2 hours. Everyone was really friendly, even the people I just bumped into. It was a business casual setting.
