First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mayo Clinic.
Systems Engineer
I had two zoom interviews back-to-back, each lasting about 30-45 minutes. Each interview had a panel of 3 interviewers. The questions they asked were a mix of behavioral, technical, and background questions. Nothing was really out of the blue and it was all pretty relevant to the role I was interviewing for.
- Can you share your motivations for wanting to join Mayo?
- Tell me about a situation where you successfully persuaded colleagues to implement an improved process.
- What technical tools and programming languages are you proficient in?
Systems Engineer
I had a 30-minute chat with three IT folks. It wasn't super technical, more like a get-to-know-you session about the role's scope and my previous work.
- Tell me about your systems knowledge.
- How does your previous experience fit this job?
IT Systems Engineer
I was contacted about 5 weeks after applying for the IT Systems Engineer role. The interview was scheduled for 2 weeks after that, which was during the holidays. It was a single interview that lasted 70 minutes, and I met with a panel of 4 people. They were really professional, polite, and respectful. The interview was mostly behavioral questions. I received an offer about 10 days after the interview, and my start date is about 40 days from the offer.
- Tell me about a time you had a conflict with a coworker and how you handled it.
