First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at May Mobility.
Site Supervisor
This was a two part interview process, with two people on each panel. The questions were focused on leadership and judgement. It was a smooth and quick process. The recruiter was also responsive and attentive. Overall, it was a good experience.
- How do you motivate your team?
Mechanical Engineer
Had a couple of phone interviews. First one was a technical one with other engineers where they ask theoretical questions. The main difficulty is figuring out the right questions to ask and how to ask them. Second interview was more general, covering skills, past projects, challenges faced, and my general working style.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a conflict.
Data Scientist
A recruiter reached out and encouraged me to apply. I didn't hear back for 8 months, then a different recruiter contacted me for a screening call. The recruiter was super late, and the call barely lasted 10 minutes. After that brief chat, they wanted me to do a take-home assignment, but I said I wouldn't do that before talking to a hiring manager. They agreed and set up an interview with the hiring manager. Turns out, the hiring manager had only been there about a month and a half and mentioned that the product isn't really developed yet, it's all still in R&D with new data coming in. The hiring manager also messed up my name. Following that quick chat, they again requested the take-home assignment, which I declined.
- Can you describe your previous projects?
- What kind of algorithms have you applied in your work?
Paralegal
I applied for the job on LinkedIn and heard back from the recruiter in about a week. We had a good chat, but then it took like a month for them to set up a call with the Associate General Counsel. That call went really well too. But then, out of nowhere, I got a standard rejection email saying they were going with other people. I guess they hired someone less experienced for cheaper, which is a shame for a two-person legal team. They're gonna be swamped.
