First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Maxwell Locke & Ritter.
Bookkeeper
I went through 4 rounds of interviews. The first three were virtual via Zoom, with one interviewer in the first round, and three interviewers in the second and third rounds. The final round was an in-person meeting at their office with three interviewers. Following the interviews, I completed a Bookkeeper aptitude test.
- Can you tell me about your years of experience using Quickbooks desktop?
Senior Associate
The interview took about an hour. I was interviewed remotely by a panel of three people. Only one person spoke, the other two just watched. It felt like an investigation, just questions back to back, no interaction.
- Can you share some of your failures from past internships and jobs?
Transaction Advisory Intern
It was one in-person interview, mostly behavior and experiences with Excel. Everyone was super nice and the instructions were clear! I interviewed with 3 managers and met some other people in the team, plus got a tour around the office in Downtown Austin.
- Can you describe your experience with Excel?
- What are your motivations for wanting to work at this company?
Auditor
The whole interview process was really interactive. First, there was an initial interview with a partner and HR. Then, the second interview went on for over 2 hours where I met with staff from different levels.
- Can you tell me about your background in public accounting?
- What specific areas of accounting are you most knowledgeable about and interested in?
