It was a 2-stage interview process. We had some good chats about Safety, Leadership, and P&L management. Also touched on Contract Management and client management, focusing on how to deliver on contractual objectives. On the technical side, we discussed explosives plant and magazine management, and blasting applications to ensure good fragmentation for optimal mining equipment productivity. They also want to know about identifying, evaluating, and implementing continuous improvement projects to create value for both clients and us.

It was in 2016: a headhunter contacted me for an initial chat (current roles, experience, what I was looking for, salary expectations), then they sent me a questionnaire about my area to complete, then an online interview in English that was recorded), then an in-person interview with the line manager and HR, standard questions, skills with examples, experience, weaknesses, why I was looking for a change, etc. Finally, I had a phone interview with the Director of Global Purchasing.
