First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Maverick Natural Resources.
Landman
The Mavericks interview process was pretty straightforward. They asked about my experience level and for some examples, and I asked about the work that would be expected. My issue was it was unclear of the company's direction in the future.
- Have you written JOA agreements before?
Landman
Had 4 one on one zoom interviews. Each one they stressed their culture over merit and experience. They would be hiring culture fits. I was also told in some of the interviews to seem more bubbly in the next one or ask this question in the next. Needless to say I declined moving forward as it wasn't a culture fit for me.
- Tell me about your experience.
- Can you describe a situation that demonstrates your behavior?
Production Engineer
I applied and heard back from the recruiter in about two weeks about an onsite interview. The interview involved the engineering manager and another senior manager. It was mostly behavioral questions with a few technical ones. The interview was pretty straightforward and they asked questions based on my resume.
- What's your comfort level with managing 500 active wells?
Business Consultant
There was a lack of synergy between fund managers and cross-team collaboration, leading to a prolonged and confusing discussion. When I asked for clarification, the responses weren't helpful.
- Are you able to assist in expanding our business portfolio?
- Can you help us with talent acquisition?
