Technical Behavioral

It was a brief interview process with 3 total interviews. First, I had to do a test to show my analytical skills and how I use Excel functions. They gave me an Excel sheet with fake suppliers and data, and a scenario to see how I would solve it. I had to explain my thought process and show my work using formulas and functions in Excel. I didn't need any outside resources because I already knew advanced Excel functions. It took a couple of hours. I thought it was pretty easy, but later when I hired people, 90% of them failed that same test.

Applied online through LinkedIn, was reached out to the following week for a phone screen. Passing that, I proceeded to round 1 interview onsite, and passing that, I proceeded to round 2 interviews with other HR personnel and the VP of HR. All personnel were people who the position would work on projects with. The interviews were more of background sharing, projects worked on, and type of HR work exposure. Very few behavioral questions, but more of understanding and explaining previous accomplishments while learning about what the needs would be at the company. The last interview with the VP was much more unconventional, more so to gauge your particular culture fit into the team and company. Very pleasant and professional!

Behavioral Technical Case

We had great conversations about the culture and where the company is looking to grow to. We talked about my experience and dove into details of projects and how I specifically impacted them. I also was given an excel homework assignment with general data. I had to analyze the data to see what the problem was if any, and an idea of where to start to solve it based on data. It was difficult enough that I could not lie about my analyst skills. It was not an actual problem in the business which is good because some companies will have you solve their problems for them as interview homework.

  • Can you elaborate on your experience and the specific impact you've had on past projects?
  • Analyze the given dataset to identify potential issues and propose initial steps for resolution.
